Rollers
The PRO-series hand rollers have established themselves as the roller of choice for the professional printmaker due to their high quality engineering. The solid brass frames are extremely strong and will never fail. The handles are securely fixed and will never unscrew and fall off. A system called spindleLOC is used to prevent spindle rotation and also makes the removal and insertion of roller sections quick and easy. Rollaco frames will last a lifetime!!
Currently we think we are the only maker of true polyurethane printmaking rollers in the UK. Polyurethane has a 'natural tack'. This means that the surface has a slightly sticky feel. This enables the roller to ink up immediately. Control of ink film thickness and transfer of ink to the plate is much more accurate and precise than with other rubber types (there is no good substitute). The result is much crisper and consistent printed images.
All Rollaco rollers have an excellent surface finish because we consistently reject anything that doesn't meet our very high standards. (Current production rollers have a hardness SHORE A30).
